A few years ago, I decided that I wanted to completely change directions in my career. I decided that I was going to follow my dreams and pursue a career in acting. The first step was going to go to university (I will be going into my second year and am now studying Drama and Theatre arts). This degree is going well but I wanted to do something more physical and really dive in at the deep end, so I started to search for local adult theatre companies, and this is when I discovered SAVVY.
I looked at SAVVY online and saw all the wonderful work they have done, not only that, they also looked extremely welcoming and friendly (which always helps when you don’t have any prior experience in acting). They made me feel extremely comfortable when talking with them and invited me to watch one of their shows. It was so entertaining, and I was very impressed with their own innovative take on the show. I decided immediately this was something I wanted to be a part of.
I have now proudly been a member of SAVVY for 5 months and can say it was one of the best decisions I have made, they are professional, dynamic and we are all like one big family. I love the fact that we have so many different personalities, but we can all come together to listen and learn from one another and create some amazing memories and performances. Joining SAVVY has excelled my confidence and has helped immensely with learning new acting techniques, and I am taking part in my first show (which I am extremely proud of).
SAVVY as a company is very inspiring in the way they work, and how they motivated me to trust and believe in myself. They have really helped me immensely, and they really listen and understand everyones own individual needs. I believe this is what makes it such a wonderful unique company.
